I think I need to add some Porsche specific decals on the filter housing. What do you think? The housing is modified to fit and want to break up the look a little. Thoughts? Attached Image

I would love to see that filter housing top in satin black and then maybe add a period correct oil decal if you believe it still needs it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Yup might get a satin clear on it. It’s powdered by my buddy thick to hide imperfections now gotta wet sand it then satin clear. Where does the oil sticker go?

Was thinking the snorkel would be prime for a turbo charge pipe with a low boost t3/t4 turbo. Well tuned like 10 hp per lb of boost?

K&N sticker alone adds 10 hp, we’ll call it 20 hp with a charge pipe (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Wait . . . . I can’t tell are you being serious about the turbo ? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

As an aside, been doing research on filtration and K&N does not fare all that well against their competitors in terms of flow. Better than stock yes but overall one of the most restrictive.

Here is a possible period correct application:

So it’s kind of an inside joke between Phil and I on the k&n thing. Gosh 25 plus years ago we did testing for an engine manufacturer between cotton/oiled k&n vs paper and the results of internal wear between the 2. K&n engines wore out considerably faster than a paper element

Umm well it’s been in the back of my mind for a while. Now that my EFI is working pretty well and I am working through the tuning process it would be very easy

I agree, OEM on early 70s MFI 911s
It may also be found on Euro delivery 914 6s
It came to me on a 914 6 housing at a swap meet thirty years ago.
It is turned ninety degrees on a 6 (compared to a 911) to be seen from the drivers
side... where the oil goes in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Why is there a dent in the back of the air cleaner?????

Only way it would fit so had to massage it. Spent a ton of time on this. I have the engine at stock 914-6 height but the air cleaner just was a PIA but I refused to go with k&n setups. I purchased a few housings but all from 911s and required modifications before the engine lid bracing would clear
