Ben, Where did you put the injectors? Did you modify the manifolds??? Would you post a detailed picture of them? Thanks, Clay Just into the MFI ports in the heads. Jpnovak makes an adapter I thought so. I was just checking on it. JP builds good stuff. I saw one of his EFI conversions at the Hill Country Rally a couple of years ago. Clay Jamie is a great guy. Extremely helpful |

Ben,
I have a bunch of MFI parts in my attic. I probably have a full set of throttle bodies, plastic stacks, linkage crossbar, and the air cleaner for them. You would have to use a linear potentiometer for the TPS, but that's not a big deal to hook up. I know I don't have all of the linkage to connect the throttle bodies together. But they are standard parts available from any Porsche parts supplier. I know the air cleaner will fit under the stock 914 engine lid. I ran MFI in mine for years with this setup. If you are interested, I will get up in the attic and double check the parts and send you a picture. The parts are yours if you want them. |

Or are the Webers just being used in place of the MFI parts? |

It was a compromise.
A half-n-half deal. "I thought about changing to Webers" went a little too far... Now, he has a double redundant fuel supply system that NO ONE else does! A fuel pump/lines change, putting the guts back into the carbs, and he's running again! Really, I believe it was done for the "look" which I fully agree with... Cept for the DENT! |

So the story was I had the carbs redone by performance oriented. I ran them for a few years and just don’t like how they run with the fuels around especially in hot weather. So rather then sell them off and have to do it all over again I decided to just use them as TBs because it’s what I had and it looks kind of cool |

We figure the simplest way is to use the linear potentiometer. I had built a TPS mount for the MFI throttle bodies years ago, but I gave it away to another member. It used a BMW TPS mounted to the end of the crossbar shaft. I figure Jamie and Aaron have been talking about this. They have been collaborating on EFI conversions for some time now. |

There's a NICE thing about that set up and the (DENTED!) air filter housing that Ben already has.
They have that nice central entrance that is ROUND!!! A MAF SHOULD live there! No more worrying about vacuum signals... Everyone and his uncle are using MAFs now (and MAPs too-together). Had I built an APEX T4 injection system it would use a MAF. The plenum to that was one of the more challenging parts... That set up is DONE from the get go... |

Heck yeah that awesome and can be a winter project when it’s 0 outside. Thank you so much. You can sell the carbs and pick up some additional 914 spending money. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Ben,
This may help you some. It is from my aborted attempt to convert my 2.4L MFI motor to EFI. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-1143-1330293244.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-1143-1330293257.jpg) I made a bracket to attach a BMW TPS (Because I had one) to the end of the MFI crossbar. It was driven by a 8x1.25 stud that was flattened on both sides to fit the TPS, and was screwed into an extra deep 8x1.25 nut, and secured with a little locktite. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-1143-1330293274.jpg) That is a quick and easy way to get a TPS mounted for your EFI. |
