I removed the top strap from the gas tank and it still will not come out. Is there an attachment under it?

Vice grips on the seam helps. Just get one side up/loose then remove the rubber blocks one at a time should come up easily at that point. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Like the guys said, breaking the seal on the rubber pads will release the tank.

Thanks for the help. |

Hey, pull the pads from the chassis and check for body rust underneath.
Same thing for on the tank where they lied. Tends to rust due to retention of moisture. |
