His car is too nice to switch to other doors.
Ralph - if you need the scissor mech, I have a couple. No charge for you. Unfortunately, I don’t have later glass. I’m pretty sure doing the later door conversion requires some welding and fabrication. The “digging into hell” thread has a “how to”.

My recommendation is to rehab the early mechanism and lube it up well.

As Rich showed you need to weld in a plateto attach the roller track. You also need the front aluminum window guide, large glass, window roller tracts, scissor winders. I have some of those parts.

So my bad for the limited explanation for mt question. My car is a 1974. Back in 1975-76 I guy backed into me and the door had to be replaced. The body shop put an early door on the car. I now have a late door that I am having painted and blended into the car. The door I have does not have any of the weather stripping. I think I can use some of the rubber on the early door, but I know I need some new stuff, like the fuzzy channesl front and rear. In addition, is the triangel seal the same early and late?

I've heard different responses, but from my experience the tops also match the doors. Later doors require late tops or you end up with a window gap.

you have to weld in a piece to the inner structure. These days, now that new early window regulators are available, no reason to convert

Are new OEM regulators for the early doors available from the factory or are they aftermarket parts?

Ah, that's interesting.

@rudedude it sounds like I need a late top too, if you happen to have any.

Diggin around in old threads, these photos should help identify early/late tops.

You also need the front (anodized) aluminum window guide assembly, large (roll up) glass, (rear) window roller tract, scissor (regulator) .

you also need the late fuzzy seal guide that installs horizontally, + the guide fuzzy seals. The wing (triangle) window is interchangeable.
I have all this stuff (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
