When I received a replacement wiper switch there was a small brass tab held by a small nut and bolt in the hole where the upper left screw holding the switch to the steering column would go. Since the switch I removed did not have such a tab and since the tab blocked a mounting hole I removed it. The switch without the tab did not function properly and also seemed to adversely impact the function of the turn signal switch. Since then I have read that the brass tab is needed for proper grounding. Here's my question: How in the heck do you mount the switch in the steering wheel without having the little brass tab repeatedly fall off. What should have been a quick easy job has become a never-ending saga!

Jim,
The nut was there so I did not loose tab. Take your screw and put it through the hole or take a piece of clear tape and hold it in place.

Thanks, Mark. Lining up the holes to put the mounting screw through the hole on the switch and the hole on the brass tab is easier said than done, but I'll keep trying. Like the Scotch tape idea. This shouldn't be this difficult.
