....from Okteenerfest, and when I restarted Mistress the speedo was completely dead, O! Not previous bouncing needle, no indication of potential failure, so probably a trip to Palo Alto this winter? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif)

John Bell/JBell959 is a much better solution than the big gauge shops. I’ve spent thousands and each and I’ll never go back to the big shops.

I would start by removing speedometer, go for a drive and see if the cable still spins. Might be a bad cable or angle drive at trans

I would start by removing speedometer, go for a drive and see if the cable still spins. Might be a bad cable or angle drive at trans (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Start with the weakest link in the chain. Far more cable failures than speedo gear failures, at least in my experience. |

Pull it, take the reset cable out (just pull it out of the speedo) and put that cable into the speedo drive hole and attach a drill to it and spin it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE and see if the needle and odometers work. if they do, it's the main cable or the angle drive in the transmission.
