The lines are now seated in the MC. Gave them a simple pressure test and did not see any leaks.
Siphoned about 12 gallons of gas out of the car, but have not pulled the tank yet. I was also working on another project and when I got to the 914 it was fairly late. So I'll pull the tank tonight and get the master in, which should be considerably easier. Zach |

I’ve noticed after i fight and fight, muscle the lines with very little leverage, that once i relax (right before giving up) and give them gentle pressure they pop right in…. Last time i did it it was a bit less frustrating, pushing too hard, deforms the grommet, then they don't move, just enough pressure allows them to slide in….

Got it done over the weekend.
Easy doing it on my bench. Roped my eldest into helping me bleed the brakes. Had a minor heart attack when a bleeder screw stripped, but it wasn't the caliper and I had spares. I'm sure I'll need another round of bleeding after driving the car a little bit, but for now I can't get any more air out and the pedal feels really good. Pulling the gas tank sucked, but I found some fuel lines that I last replaced in... 2015? 2016? Anyway, starting to dry rot. And I figured while the tank was out, I'd replace the fuel filter and undertank fuel lines. Just waiting for parts to arrive and I should have the tank back in pretty quick. Penn Air Ralley is this weekend, and I want the 914 in it! Zach |
