I have the original green injectors.

I ordered a new TPS. I have mine disconnected ATM.

I also ordered some test tubes and will be pulling the injectors to do a simple flow test with them still connected to the fuel rails. It will give me an idea of how each compare to each other.

Since its sounds like its running ruff, I'm back on checking timing. This time I checked the piston location compared to the mark on the fan wheel. After I set the mark on the wheel to TDC and while watching the piston, I turned the crank clockwise and see the piston continue up. Is this expected or is the mark on the fan wheel set to a timing degree instead of TDC? The fan moved 3 to 3 1/2 fins. Click to see video of TDC check.

I got curious and checked the flywheel. There's a mark on the flywheel where the piston is at the top and not where the mark on the fan wheel is.

After setting timing on the flywheel it purrs so sweet. woohoo!! rock and roll. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Bad thing is its raining and its might snow tomorrow. I'll have to wait to take it out. Video of start and idle.

Thanks for all the help!!! This may not be the end but if not I'm real close.

Sounds great. Where did your idle end up?

After 2 or 3 minutes of warm up its between 850 and 900 RPMs at 8 degree advance.

I was expecting the AAR to put it around 1600 until it closed but that didn't happen at first cold start this morning(40 degrees in utah today), . Something I will be looking into in the next couple days.

On mine it was a bit over 3 fan fins. Not sure how many degrees that is but it made a huge difference with how the engine is running.

Aar works but it's kind of annoying. In upstate NY mine takes forever in cold weather to close. In warm weather it takes a few minutes and probably doesn't even need to do that. I think I would be happier with a manual vacuum leak operated by an old choke lever. I am already half way there with my troubleshooting garden hose cut off on the fresh air line going to it. Hell, we could use it like the 6ers use the cold start throttle. As a cruise control...

Oh yeah, and more. I took it for a 20 minute drive tonight. So fun. It was my first drive with it running good with D-Jet. It seems to ride somewhat different that it did with carbs. I'm digging the D-Jet so far.

I tested the AAR at cold startup. I plugging the input to the AAR while it was running. It had a big effect on the idle RPMs at first when it was drawing a lot of air. However once the engine heated up and the AAR closed the RPMs was not effected much, went from like 1400 to 1200 is all. Just something else to mess with. Video of test

I find the aar puts it up around 1500 on mine cold, after it closes it will still be around 1100 until the ECU brings the richness down to full hot. That is from the cht and the charge temp sensor I suppose. Once it is full warm it sits at 850+900.

My ECU idle knob probably isn't correct anymore. I didn't mark it when I bought it and I've turned it. I don't have any equipment to tune it ATM.

A great learning process, I have been watching from afar. Now that you know how each component works, DJet is not that hard. You will love it as you already seem to be.

That ECU you have should a little mark, normally just south of 9 o'clock. It doesn't look 'professional'. It looks like somebody jammed it with a flat headed screw driver. It won't be for yours but they are all in that vicinity. Only supposed to affect idle anyway.

Great progress!

As emerygt350 stated, aim for somewhere in the middle of the range of the ECU knob. Turn it counter-clockwise until the idle starts to hunt, and then turn it 1-2 clicks clockwise until it stops hunting. That should put you 1-3 clicks within the middle mark.
