So goes it. The floors are very good (appear to be), the longs need some small patches including the jack posts,.......

Good winter project

That's an interesting fix on the trailing arm mount.

I don't know how some mechanics sleep at night. This "repair" could never have worked properly (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

The rearmost portion of the drivers side quarter panel was replaced with a resulting poor lap weld complete with pop rivets as part of the "repair". The blue is the paint color of the repair panel.

This beauty also needs a new trunk floor, I am thinking to open it up and maybe get a good look, also remove the patched in quarter panel and make the proper connections.

I was hoping this was going to be a simple fix (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif)

Seen that one before. Best remove the botched outer panel and start with repairing the structural part of the car. You can do it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif)

This is a good reminder why a pre-purchase inspection is a good thing. Hope you went into this one knowing where you're at before taking on the project.

Exactly, the trunk floor is also toast. Hoping once I get all of the crap out of the way, things will be more clear

PPI is always a good thing. I came across this one from a former enthusiast who came down with dementia. Last registered in 1990 New York, overall she is solid and I couldn't pass it up for $700. got a bunch of 911 parts with the sale.

There are a couple "minor areas of rust" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) if there is such a thing

Bondo over 3/8" thick at the lap joint. Not exactly how to proceed, there is also a bunch of brazing, pop rivets, general DAPR (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif)

Post pics of the rest of the car.

From what you’ve shown thus far, it’s looking an awful lot like a parts car.

I wouldn’t do anything else to it without making some measurements of the tub.

I think the only reason you don't see mountains of rust is because they blew away in the wind! That control arm mount has evaporated!

Media blast the chassis and get back to us (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah - sketchy but it isn’t terrible for an east coast car. Worse have been saved . . . At a cost.

Measure the tub carefully before you invest lots of time or $ into this chassis. I can’t imagine it having been hit that hard and not needing a pull on a frame rig to square it back up.
