So goes it. The floors are very good (appear to be), the longs need some small patches including the jack posts,.......

Good winter project

Be careful. Don’t pull your scissors lift over or bend it.

Hydraulics capable of developing lots of force. Use it wisely. Don’t be afraid to use the fire wrench to soften the metal in places to lessen the pull force needed.

Thank you, this is uncharted ground for me, hoping 50+ years of experience and a backyard engineering degree will get me through. I also have a couple willing sets of eyes as backup. The porta power is 4 ton, scissors rig is quite stout, I will be adding a section of 3" x4" tubing for some pulling action. and yes, per "The key to Metal Bumping" the torch will be nearby.

A set of home made pinch weld clamps is on my radar to secure the chassis

Overall it's got good bones as a starting chassis and I hate to recycle it

Certainly others have been down this road, please chime in

Peeling back the onion, currently the plan is to remove some of the most damaged metal and straighten the least damaged (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Lots of good metal here, finding the way through is another story

I hope you aren’t thinking about doing what I think you are thinking of doing.

Really bad plan to glue two halves together.

Hopefully you are only trimming donor sections aft of the suspension pick up points / rear engine bulkhead.

I know or have been told I am crazy, but I'm not That crazy. The chassis we have is basically a good one, suspension points are good, floors good, not tons of rust, generally good. I will be replacing the quarter panel, inner fenderwell and maybe a bit more. Depends on how the push/pull works out. When I brought this one home the only "visible" damage was a poorly lap spliced rear quarter. the car was cheap so I went for it.

I am unable to locate other threads where this has been completed before, I am sure they exist somewhere

Starting to remove the kinked inner fenderwell

Planning to remove " some" of the damaged/kinked panels and get a push here and a pull there to get things in line

First time at this game, what could possibly go wrong?

Hoping this won't need too much push. Planning to add some heat, a little tap here and there. Combination of all three
