Yeah really. I don't know where I'd be without these guys. I guess that when I sell the car, I'll send George some CA lottery tickets.

NOT SO MUCH!!
They screwed up my last two orders. Customer Service never said something like "I'm sorry for our mistake", or God forbid "How can we make it right" I only use them as the vendor of last resort. Stoddard and 914 Rubber (amongst others) are much better. |

I'd be scratching my head "what the hell happened" The lift broke. My lift let the juice out with a 1500 chevy on... I am fearful every time I step under anything heavy.. Matt |

I’m just so happy we have people like AA, 914rubber and Pelican parts to get what I need for a fair price. Each have made a mistake before but so have I when placing my order. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/stirthepot.gif) Paul

My recollection is the good Dr. posted that lift picture back when this happened so others could be aware of lift issues. He has always been a valued resource to our community and is a wealth of information and help when you ask. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I'd be scratching my head "what the hell happened" Three "things" had to happen... Someone disabled the mechanical locks. This is the MAIN safety failure. You lose the cylinders AND the cables with the locks functional, and the car stays UP. It is a double headed nightmare to get down if left 6 feet high, but the car doesn't fall... Disabling the safeties on any lift is negligence in my book. The cables failed. The cables have a service life and should be replaced at least every ten years. My BendPak lift service manual states 5. Mine are 9 years old now... Light cars and low "cycle" life extends cable life IMO. I DO inspect and lubricate my cables ever year. They take special lube specifically for cabling. Every side post lift I've worked on has a hydraulic ram on both sides. It might be possible to have a single ram lift, but I've never seen one. The ram failed on the left side. So, even with triple redundancy that car dropped. Looked like a nice car! I have a rule in my shop. A car left chucked up on the lift is ON the first safety lock overnight. If the lift shits the bed overnight the car is only 18" high and can be removed with a floor jack and jack stands. You can get the car off of the lift BEFORE you have to call the customer... |

Just ordered two parts, not listed available, from what I could find elsewhere.
Im not saying there my soul parts provider, yet Auto Atlanta stocks the small, or rarely stocked elsewhere, unique factory items. Knowledge base on the web site, easy part find. Tailored for our cars from day 1. And QUICKEST checkout for checked in customers. IMO |

Irrelevant. AA doesn't sell lifts. On the other hand, this kind of thing is more common than most people think. BTDT with two neighbors - a Chevy truck & a Corvette. "Oops" as Mads Mikkelsen would say. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) |
