Though not applicable to this car, did factory GT's have the flares added or were the fenders stamped with the flares?

I saw the 'Rally prep for 914' video posted recently and was surprised at how poorly the flares were installed. Were the factory GT's installed in the same manner, lap welded and leaded, if at all?

@MikeK
Hand cut and welded.

I posted a video a couple of days ago that shows the process.

Remember, those cars were put together quickly for competition, not to be shown at a concours 50 years later.

I viewed this car at RennSport 7 with awe ! She was parked in an open steel structure near our tent...and surrounded by 959's + RuF cars. The QC and authenticity of this build is as good/ better than a Weissach or Sonauto build; French tail light lenses 'Mais ouis ¡¡

I saw this a RR7 as well and sopped by several times hoping to meet the owner, not knowing it was Bernie until now. I met him years ago and still have him in my phone, if only I'd have known. Crap.

I was really drawn to this car and now I know why. It was amazing to see in person just parked there. Took a lot of pics mostly like already shown here.

For the next four days I’ll be sitting next to this GT. If there’s anything you need me to check just ask

I just got home from the Seattle area. I think that the car is going to need windshield wipers.

Just one pic as there's already plenty of the GT.

This is a really, really beautiful build-out.

If still possible, would love to see more info and/or pics about how the driving lights are mounted to the front end…as this is the coolest method imho.

Thanks Dan and Marc. It was fun having the two cars right next to each other as they were about as far apart as you can get in performance. It was also cool to see the different attention they each received. The pictures don't do Bernie's car justice. Nor do they let one hear what it sounds like! Absolute 914 heaven seeing that car in the show and watching it pull in/leave.
