Hey everyone! My 914 gt project came to a screeching halt when I tried to put on the rear wheels. The fender rubs right at the top of the tire, a problem that I didn't think was going to happen with the size of wheel I chose. They are 15x8 fuchs with 335/30 toyo proxes tires. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've been advised to add negative camber and roll fenders, but I want to check with the community as well. Will add photos below CORRECTION! I just realized i typed 335 i meant 235! Uploading photos now Yup flare placement. Done a bunch of cars over the years now for me and for others and there is only one way to correctly do it. |

Hopefully some pictures get posted. Would really like to see how far off from fitting the tire/wheel is. There's part of me thinking maybe it's just the really large lip. The few sets I've installed (many years ago), I cut the lip back to something small, like 1/8" or so. Only where the tire would reside, left the rest of the large lip alone.
There's a good thread here some have rolled the lip which seems better, stronger. |

Hmmm, I’m still stuck on who the hell makes a 235/30 r15 tire….
I’m not getting any hits on the Toyo site… |

Yes we had to trim the lip of the inside of the fenders, luckily we did it before paint. I now run a small spacer in the back with 225's.

Rolling the flange removes a sharp edge and strengthens the fender.
It is also thinner than what would be left by just prudent trimming Attached thumbnail(s) Attached image(s) |

Wow that’s a lot of negative camber.
There is a point where it impacts braking performance I’ve measured and tested with a traq-mate |
