Welcome to the insanity. If you tend towards OCD, aka perfectionism, have you already allowed yourself to plan a complete, everything apart to the last nut and bolt, totally bare body shell rebuild?

If so, how old are you--how many good years do you have left? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

That is in fact exactly the plan. Bare body shell rebuild. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif)

Well, then, enjoy it! And please share with the rest of us anal types.

My favorite blue color is Marathon probably because I had a brand new 73 marathon blue bug I bought when I was 21 my first new car. As far as the OCD goes, I know the feeling but when you build a car to that level like my 6, you are scared to take it out anywhere for fear of getting smallest little imperfections because once it's perfect you can only go downhill from there, but you know that

Welcome Bob B

your 73 bug was a "sun bug" I remember them.

My first 914 project was (is) Marathon Blue, but is far down the line in resto order.

Bob, maybe you should get a beater to take to the corner store? I sold a nice original 356SC a couple years ago just for that reason, never wanted to take her out.

A warm welcome to the OP, let us know how can be of assistance

They called them Baha Bug and they had these wheels shown and special tail pipes and a white stripe on the side. I did not want the stripe so they did not put it on. Precision Volkswagen of Beverly Hills, six houses down from my house the corner on Olympic, right there on the poor side of BH

Looks like a great car to begin with. Good luck. Look forward to seeing your progress.
Great colour! I'm biased.
