I'm going to step up and offer to head up a Pacific NW Ramble this year. I'm thinking that this doesn't compete with a SoCal event. We've studied our calendar and come up with the weekend ending with September 14th. Yes, that means 9/14 will be celebrated. The date might conflict with Ockteenerfest, but I think very few people would attend both (except maybe Mark).

So take a look at your calendar and see if there's a big conflict I'm missing.

Not to hijack this thread but there is a planned 914 event happening in Folsom CA, May 16th - 18th.
Erik Schmid and a couple others came up with the idea and are organizing it and I volunteered to help.
It is listed on facebook under the "NorCal 914s" group as "First Annual NorCal 914 Fest: Gold Country Edition."

@jcd914

Hey Jim, can you start a thread here on this NorCal event and keep it updated with details as they evolve, please?

Many here on 914world do not access Facebook for various reasons, it would be great to get updates on this Gold Country event and who knows maybe a few attendees.

TIA.

over lap with the RRC event in Colorado also
we usually have a few CA folks attend, but don't know how much conflict that would be either.

Just throwing this out there, but what about a Socal (or central) that occurs either before or after the PNW event Billy is putting on? It could be a a " Treffen " run for 914's! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Jeff, I did not start a new thread but Bruce (flat4guy) did.
nor cal 914 fest
Gold Country Edition

I added links to the event into his thread.
It is local for me and Red Bus Brewing is a favorite of ours, so we were on-board from the beginning.
A few here have already signed up.

Just my 2 cents, but I think WCR belongs in the spring.

That said, it is a favorite event for Mary and I and we will try to attend when ever or where ever it occurs.

I agree, but no one stepped up til now. It takes time to plan these.
Hotel reservations are best made before the travel season, and less expensive when made before hotels start filling up. T shirts are usually designed and produced and shipped.

Looks like @tygaboy and or @valcoOscar are the contenders!

Let’s try to wrap this up Monday, so the planning can begin.

Oscar - I'm in for anything you need. Wish I could host, though I just have too-much going on. For your consideration on the driving roads, I recently was out (while I did it in reverse) around Ramona > Julian > Ocotillo > Brawley > Glamis.

Depending on if my daughter is in or out of mountain biking race scheduling I might be able to lend some help, this year's been stacked though. I need to get out and drive (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

Edit: Event is June 26-28 not May as previously listed.

@valcooscar

I spoke with Oscar and he is willing and ready to plan and host the next WCR 2025.
Will be starting a new thread with basic details buthere is what is agreed upon as of now.

Thursay June 26 Casual get together at Oscars home in the late afternoon - evening.

Friday June 27 Drive to the mountains, either Idyllwild or Big Bear. Cooler in the Mountains.

Saturday June 28 awards banquet at Oscars.

Checking out Ayers Inn in Corona and they can offer a group rate of about $160 with two nite stay. Free full breakfast. Leaning strongly toward them as the coordinator is named Porsche. Obviously sign from the gods.

Other possibility is Hampton Inn in the La Sierra area of Riverside.

Stay tuned and any local or non local help welcomed.
