That's a crazy price. No info on condition. You could be throwing $5k away on a shot case

Unfortunately, it is only of value to the owner of the chassis that it belongs to……..

I recently saw one on eBay for $10K.

I've sold a bunch of them over the years. I was usually satisfied with $1K

Speaking of numbers matching. My buddy got $50K for a 1964-911 case, when he found the owner of the car.

I paid $3,000. for the numbers matching case for my 6 and it was clean as a whistle with the case bolts replated. Boxed and perfect in 2023 and I feel I got a great deal

Wow. There is also a G50 pedal set on Ebay for $3,250. Some people think that if someone asks a ridiculous price that it is what it is what it is worth. Even when it is not a rare part.

Things are only worth what someone will pay, not what everyone thinks it's worth. I have a 1969 911S MFI injection pump. Everyone tells me it is worth 3k, but when I put it up for sale, no one will pay that.

I sold one not long ago for $5,500. They had the engine (and the car) but not the pump.

In my opinion, the 914-6 engine cases are worth $500-1k unless you can match it to the car. It’s just a mag case that needs $3k of machine work just to build on it. Theoretically, the numbers matching engine is worth ~ 20-25% of the car value but if you have to spend $30k +\- just to build that case, it usually isn’t worth it financially. I’m not saying you shouldn’t, it’s just not a money making opportunity in most cases.
