@johnc - Your car looks terrific; how do the 7" rims fit? Any contact F or R?
Cheers,

Luckily enough, no contact front or rear, but it is close. I can squeeze my finger tips in between the rear tire (right and left) and the fenders.
After reading all the threads on the subject I decided to go conservative on the tire size, 195/60/16’s, which was for my car the right move, as I was able to keep the fenders untouched. Also the tire diameter is very close to the 185/70/15’s so the speedometer is still accurate.

What a great look !
Excellent tire update too.
I think a little caution is called for here.
Rear tire clearance varies from car to car so this combo may be too tight for some.
Love the yellow and the overall vibe.

Beautiful! Reminds me. My first Porsche was a yellow 914-6 (for which I sold a Corvette in 1976). Great car until I had a kid and had to switch to 911's. Grateful that I've had a replacement six for many years now. Still my favorite Porsche. Enjoy!

Real Fuchs, I used the back pair from two sets of ‘80’s 911 wheels; I don’t know the offset but they are the regular 7’s from those years. As others have reported the fronts fit easily, the issue is usually one side of the rear. 205/55’s are the most often done but I would say that the rear fenders are usually reworked in a minor way. 6’s always work but I wanted the deeper dish look!

I really like the look. I think the 7” width with the RSR finish make the narrow body look much more aggressive. Nice job

There’s a local SoCal guy, Peter Nguyen who has done a few sets of wheels for me over the years, very good work and exemplary turnaround time. Here’s a picture unmounted.Attached Image

Looks GREAT and you might have gotten lucky with a wider-fender 914.

Then again the tire size is a big factor, my 16x6 run 205 tires and I don't think there's a way to make a 16x7 with 205 fit w/o a custom 7R offset wheel.

Great looking refinish by Peter...I might have to send my wheels out there (it's on the list of to-dos)

Agreed. Original poster is lucky to have a car with generous fender clearance…. Not the norm.

Remember when slits ran 15x7’s and had to go to a 185 width of tire to fit in a stock fender. That is more often the norm for fender clearance on a 914

Looks great though
And I’ve punched out two 914’s now to run 225 x 15 on both of my 914s. But had to paint them both

I too am running 7s front and rear. That is the finish that I have been thinking I would like to do, but after seeing it on your car, I am 1000% convinced. Beautiful!

Are they anodized? Powder coated or painted? Does your guy ship?

I have a 75. Not sure if the later fenders are more generous, but I am running 205/50 16s with just some fender massaging. As in aggressive pulling/pushing. They are not rolled. My right rear occasionally rubs a little, but not much. I am running factory 6 rotors. I was looking at the hats when I put them on. They are like 3/8" thick. I think taking those down to 3/16 will give me what I need. Just food for thought.

Great looking car!

(edit: I need to update my avatar. Still had the 6s on front there)
