This kit car is on a 914 body. Has anybody seen this before? Do you know what it is or where it came from?

I’m pretty sure from the doors back is a Kelmark GT (were normally on a Beetle chassis / pan). T4 motors were sometimes used in Kelmark’s. The front hood definitely isn’t a Kelmark GT but sorta’ looks like a Rayco kit front end? My guess is that the thing is a cut, paste and hack based off the Kelmark and a one off front end.

Would be curious how they fitted the Kelmark body over a 914 tub assuming that’s really what is underneath all that fiberglass.

It's gonna overheat. There are no holes in the engine lid.

But the look of it is not bad It seems to use the factory front trunk lid and popup headlight assemblies.

Probably be a good looking car after finishing.

I bought a Kelmark body from the factory in about 1975. the standard body fit a standard bug pan (unshortened). they also built a tube frame to accept a toronado drive train mid engine for the same body. the owner, larry, took me for a ride in his daily driver, a 69 bug that he had dropped onto that tube frame. you really couldn't see from 10 feet away the v-8 in the back seat.
BTW the Kelmark body was kind of a POS.

Those are not baby tornados. Those are the big vitalonis like mine. Lambos, Ferrari, and alpha Spyders. I paid 100 dollars for a rough one and fixed it.

Wow, this is a Mile D high jack. Are you looking for another project? I only ask because I'm still working on the one you sold 15 years ago. I'm happy with the car I just wondered if you were one of my over 110,000 viewers?
