Zoom in on the muffler to heat exchanger flange. They welded them together. Exit holes on the HEs will cover half of the muffler inlet holes. And was needs gaskets.

they must have wrapped a chain around the end of the heat exchangers to squeeze em in a bit before they got the welder out.

if they were really thinking instead of bumbling they could have bought a kombi muffler off dansk for half the price of the 1.8 and hung the tailpipe out the right side with all the arse dragging clearance they got themselves and made it look even worse.
only did half the job of being shithouse.
