So clean! I love it. What case/head bolts did you go with? Or, are these clean up original hardware?

Danny buddy,

This screams of clean. Great job. Get a video of its start-up if you can. The feeling of the 1st start up is amazing. You have done a fantastic job on getting this car dialed in.

Best as always,

Bob B

Hi there,

The new engine isn’t anything special—just a stock 2.0 with new headers, new pistons and cylinders, a new oil pump, new camshaft, a new wiring harness, and all the tin repainted.

I want a reliable cruiser, and it was time for a rebuild. I pulled the engine myself (my first engine pull!) and dismantled it down to the longblock. My shop took it further apart, and
I handled all the cleaning. They’re building the longblock, and I’ll take care of the rest of the assembly.

The car always started right up and ran fine, but I noticed my buddies were just pulling away… and I also smelled burning oil...

some pictures of what we found inside the engine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Dax,
That is a beautiful site to see. What method did you use to get that so sparkling clean?

Hi there, engine was first cleaned in industrial cleaner/degreaser. All grease was gone but still had some sealant on... also the block discolored a bit. Then engine was then vapor blasted (or aquablasted as they call it here) with super fine grit (nearly powder) which removed all sealant. It was done professionally as you need somebody who knows what he is doing.

Really pretty tough & tolerant little engines.

That one has some of the typical years of abuse on it from the looks of things. Will feel like a giant horsepower boost just to get a fresh engine back in it!

The end result is absolutely pristine. I've never seen an engine that looked that good.
Thanks for sharing
