I've had a little break and now have a new goal/deadline. Get the car driveable for SJ Auto Show by Jan 10th.

-I compared Darren's Boxster clutch parts to the Audi 2.7, the differences are: engine pulse toner wheel mount, fore and aft dimensions, design variation. The common things are: starter ring dia and teeth, 9.5" dia clutch, clutch slave, pilot bearing, and release bearing

-Find 964 clutch pedal assembly or buy an aftermarket Tilton

-Swap CV's and mount the axles

-Install Audi wiring harnesses, ECU, Battery, air box

-Mount the formed water tubes, fit hoses to the radiators and fill tank

-Mount the Hella HID ballasts and wire harness

-wire the LED tail, mirror signal, and front signal lights

-finalize a shifter cover, design and frame the center instrumentation

-Bend Lexan side windows and mount up so people can't reach in the car

-Mount the Borla mufflers

Oh I think you forget something on your list.....

Sell the car to me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Great work, I cant wait to see it finished.

Paul,

I'm "afraid" to add up the costs and my time... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hi Felix,

You probably already know this but Lexan makes a product with a scratch resistant surface on one side. I think it is called mar gaurd. I used it for my chopped Ghia roadster windshield. It held up nicely. If I could afford a project manager, you would be my first choice. I'm so impressed with your drive! I am finally focusing on huge job of editing some of the footage from the flare work. I will send you a copy when it is done. Hard to believe it is the same car...

John www.ghiaspecialties.com

John,

TAP also has a one or two sided scratch resistant plexiglass but am told they loose that quality when heated. Really tough, resists rubbing from a Scotchpad. Did you bend your windshield? I was hoping to cold bend the Lexan but may need to build a heat box and wood jig.

Feel free to post any of the pics on your websites, John (Vegasracer) has high res if you need them. I'll try to get digital video for the SJ Auto show.

Hi Tom,

Felix was kind enough to trust me to do the rear flares to the point of bare metal, unwelded, and still needing cosmetic work, Mark DeBernardi did the fronts using some of my techniques, and I'm sure, plenty of his own. If you email me directly, I will let you know when the video is done: ghiafab@coastaccess.com It will contain both methods. Sorry for the hihjack Felix.

Quick edit:

Hi Felix the Ghia windshield held its curve by itself...put the rubber on and installed it...that was it. It goes back to flat when removed.

Even my V8 914 get's better mileage than 4MPG! Modern fuel management yields great MPG and I do plan to use as much of the Audi S4 intruments and diagnostics if I can sort out the wiring, LOL.

Felix.. you going to incorperate a gps into it?

I bought one at staples for 150 durring black friday... its so accurate... right out of the box!! Also it shows gas stations, and country roads, (took 88 to carson city... accurate to about 20 feet.) displays MPH, altitude, position, N S E W, ect..

I think it would be a great addition to the NEO.. all 1 lb of it...

Andrew,

Those are NICE! What time did you get in line? I was having coffee and bagels on black friday far away from the malls. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm planning to incorporate a computer with all media, GPS, etc. My upholsterer has a line on them. There goes the rear trunk, LOL. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Unfortunately I made virtually no progress on my list before the show. I need to disassemble alot and remove the drivetrain after the show.

I found out I have the wrong 944 CV's thanks to Aaron as they have the wrong spline count vs. the 930 axle.

I did get a Boxster clutch pedal assembly and bench wired alot of the components...

I also mounted the ballast and lit up the HID's. Found out I need to angle them down a little...

Mark,

I'll need the stock 914 brake pedal asm back. I'd have to punch a big hole in the tank to use the Boxster asm.

Check out what Jason found from the UK, it's 964...

Sorry to ask again, but is there any progress made on the clear lenses for the turn-signal openings?

Last info from Tony was that his wife was hand carrying them on her flight on the 13th. I should get the first set shortly thereafter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Bought some Boxster bumpers so I can remold the rear bumperette pockets. I also got bought some stock intercoolers because I can fit two rights, since the pair has different plumbing ports. Bought a BMW door latch since the stock 914 latch didn't look right.

Got the most of the seals installed, it took longer than I thought.

Bad news, my halogen light on a post fell on the rear fender flare and made a little nick. Fortunately the fender was strong enough to resist a dent... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Got the car loaded for SJ Auto Show, this is the LAST time I want to tow it!

That's correct. I don't know how many sets she will be bringing with her, but definitely more than 1. I can't wait to see how they come out. Its been a long time in the making with these.
