Long shot, but I’m looking for late 1990s to early 2000s print magazines that featured Type 4 2.5L high performance engine builds and/or parts catalogs of the same vintage that offered complete engine build kits of that displacement that featured welded cranks, cast iron heads, and JE pistons.

Any help appreciated. Yes, I’ve already tried Google books and Ebay.

VW & Porsche magazine ran ads bad then from vendors like Stephens Machining (or something like that?). Not sure about cast iron heads, and pistons may have been Keith Black.

Mark Stephens High Performance is a name that we haven't seen dug up for about 25 years now. Some say it should remain buried.

We only have experience with one set of 914 heads (made from one bus head with smog holes and a 1.7 head), clearly not a "matched set" and without any combustion chamber or port work done. But, at least we got them, unlike too many others that got stiffed.
