My '75 1.8L with stock fuel injection system is running rough. I'm thinking a fuel injector cleaner is in order. Red Line SI-1, Lucas and the old standby I use for my boats, Sea Foam, seem to get the best reviews. Any advice or other options?.

Techron works good for me. Works best when you can burn a full tank of fuel at once. Like on a extended drive or long trip.

We send them to Mr Injector.
Quick turn around and a report that shows real data like injector flow/rate, pattern, leaking, etc. Also comes with new seals and pintle caps, etc. No guesswork. Takes that out of the possibilities when troubleshooting issues. Just got a set back last week (for a Toyota) and could actually feel the difference when driving the car. |

Most injection cleaning services clean the injector both directions (back flushing!) and it does so much better a job than any "mystery juice". I use a bunch of Seafoam, but I do not use it as an injector cleaner. For injectors I will use "Techron" in the skinny black bottle. I've seen that same black bottle (with an overlay sticker) from VW, Honda, and Mazda. 1 bottle per tank and then drive long distance is best. But I don't expect much from the bottle and would prefer to send them out |

I've sent hundreds of injectors to him. Fast turn around, good pricing, before and after flow reports. He puts on a new seal and I think he also does the little screen. |
