I was looking at some photos of the 996 GT3 car and had a question - shouldn't the flares also bolt up to a Boxster? The rears would have to be modified, but I have seen a ton of catags selling the GT3 bumper for the Boxster - I would think it would be an easy bolt on deal since the 996 and 986 have the same front end. Anyone know?

I'm not quite sure the flares are seperate parts
I think (at least the fronts) are complete fenders the fronts would fit a boxster rears would require modification (has been done) Attached image(s) |

On our GT3RS we replaced both rear quarters
This is why, we have owned that very car for a few months now the rear quarters are not factory 996 parts, they came from PMNA, and are wider than the stock 996 rears, then you bolt the carbon flares to them I think the narrow body car maintains the same overall geometry of the fender though. So the GT3RS/RSR flares should match right up (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) |
