Good afternoon,
I am looking to recover my door panels/cards. I have the material from 914 Rubber to do so. Searched the forums but didn't come up with anything. Looking at the doors currently they appear to have the vinyl affixed via 3mm or 1/8" very thin staples. So my Arrow T50 stapler is out as it will not shoot 1/8" staples. I read that a series 71 stapler may work but I also cannot find one of those that works with less then 1/4" or 6mm staples. What is everyone using to affix their new vinyl on their door panels? |

I used aa Arrow JT27 with JT21 1/8" staples. You can find it on Amazon or other online retailers. I paid $15.00 with a box of 1,000 staples.

That sounds like it could work. I can find the stapler but not JT21 staples with a 1/8" leg. Looking right on the Arrow site they do not offer them. Is there a part # you can share or were they 3rd party versions? I checked Amazon.Com, Amazon.Ca and ArrowToolGroup.Com |

I used the short 1/8” staples in my electric Arrow staple gun as well. You must staple it all back together by laying the door car with new upholstery on a very hard surface to be successful.

If you enter 1/8" you'll get 1/4" all day long.
I found 1/8" by entering 'upholstery staples' Have not purchased them yet. Maybe my 'contact cement only' door panels will be enough. I'm away at the moment so can not provide a US link |

914 Rubber's door cards or "door timbers" as they are listed, are really nice. I just watched a set being upholstered yesterday and the upholsterer really liked them too.
Don't forget to grab their vapor barrier kit at the same time; another great product that fits nicely and comes with the butyl tape. Great job 914 Rubber. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
