I've got a nice late model center rear view mirror (the one attached to the windshield) but the glass is dull with yellow streaks and spots. Is it possible to replace just the mirror inside the plastic frame? Perhaps heating up the plastic to allow inserting the new glass?
Thanks. George |

The later mirror is available new for a few hundred dollars. I am not sure you could get the old glass out of the mirror without damaging the plastic mirror itself. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have to disagree. I have replaced the glass of the rear view mirror. Mine was also full of spots and not nice to see. Got it out and ordered a replacement mirror here at a local shop using the old one for size. Fitting it was tricky but doable.
You some patience and to be very carefull. Use plastic flat sticks like the ones you get for mixing two component glues to get de glas to slide in position. |

Surely it's not a task to complete with your eyes closed. Great victory. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) I'll try to save a couple hundred bucks wherever I can |
