Is this the correct orientation of the elbow what helps with the bend of the oil hose connected to the oil filler neck? The short curved end towards the filler and the longer straight segment pointed down?

I could make either orientation work and they're both a pretty tight fit.

Dennis the cars originally came with a neck nearly identical to 911 where the breather nipple points straight out and had a metal 90' pipe to make the curve behind the engine lid support strut (see photo).

Later replacement filler necks had this pipe curving back 90' off of the filler neck and that eliminated this metal connecting pipe.
