Ran across an ad on a fb group in the 914 Parts For Sale group, claiming to be the John Bond blue 914 turbo that AIR and Peter Dawe built back in the 1970s. Interesting if true - I've wondered what came of that car. Looks like it needs some finish work. Pic below for those you aren't on fb, or not a member of the group.

Shhhhh....
Dont tell Chris.

Seriously $75k is not a bad price considering it has a 3.4 twin turbo.

I don't think this is the Bond car.
Probably Chuck Beck's Son's car

Thats for sure Randy Beck‘s old 914-6. I drove it a few times at Willow Springs. That is a very fast car. Randy's been building 904s for the last 10 years.

I talked to Randy the other day and asked him who car this was and he said it’s an old client named George. I have seen this car in person and we’ve had it out at Willow at least a couple times. (By the way, George chopped off the front fenders so he could run wider front rims/ tires, which kills me).!

A guy named Parker built this motor, probably 10-15 years ago and it’s pretty legit.!

Was the original John Bond, C&D, R&T mags owner, ‘78 “Blue Car”. Have everything from 1978 build including wheels and tires. Pictures and files/records of all work since ‘78. I have had the car for 25 years and can confirm that one each rebuild or freshen the crank has measured “Factory”. 1.27s at Big Willow Springs before last upgrade. Health has prevented me from driving so you get to find the under 1.25s. New 4 camera and screen in box. Lots of spares and 930 parts in boxes.

So is the Beck built from the Bond.... now the Orange Racer ?
