Tarrett sway bar rattle Options

Installed a 19mm Tarrett front swaybar. It's very nicely made but the poly bushings that go around the bar are very slightly oversized and have more play than it seems like they should. When I installed them I wondered if this would resulting in clunking over bumps. It did. It's minor but annoying and seems unnecessary. I called Tarrett and the support guy was very nice but said the bushings all have some play like this and only 1 or 2 people have ever complained about it. Wondering if there is a solution for this or any other through body swaybar options as I bought another 914 project car that will need a bar. Stock rubber mounted bars seem hard to come by and smaller than I would like.

Mine rattled when going over bumps but it turned out it was hitting the bottom of the tank when deflecting.

Easy solution was to move the rubber spacers for the tank a bit lower which raises the tank.

Since i didn't have the holes for the sway bar i'm guessing i drilled them just a tick too high which moved the bar too close to the tank.

Worth checking if yours has the same issue.

Try Sir Andy suggestion to make sure it’s not hitting the tank but extra noise harshness and rattles are to be expected with solid bearings / bushings / heim joints.

Great for the track. No so good for road

One thing that happens sometimes with 911/914 front swaybars is there can be a little slack side to side, depending on how the radius arms are placed on the ends. May be worth checking. as it's basically slop movement and can clunk. Usually you can loosen the radius arms, push them in on each side, and re-tighten.

They do make that bar in two sizes so it is possible they mispacked bushings for a larger bar. Everything on my 19mm tarrett has been nice and tight since day 1. Definitely want to address it as even the smallest amount of play in suspension bits can cause big problems.
