I'm in need of a 17mm or 19mm master cylinder ATE in excellent/new condition. Hoping someone has an extra one laying around (I know wishful thinking) but I'm having a hard time paying $600+ that vendors are charging, if they even have any available. Thanks

I have the clip off of my 17mm can you confirm it will work on this 19mm?
I honestly dont know the difference between a 17 and 19.

I don’t know why the ATE MC’s are $600+. It’s not like the design changed in the last couple decades. They are out of stock at our distributor. Maybe when they become available again th we price will go back to a more normal level.

I see this type of crap often now.

I bought the last aftermarket Sanden compressor for a 2010 CRV this spring.

Sold it to my customer at $600 and made a small profit.

I believe Sanden has stopped making them.

Honda themselves is the ONLY source for this compressor now, they have plenty.

The Honda list is $2240...

2000-2010 GM truck blend door actuators went from $80 to $350. Most setups have two of these.

The bean counters are pricing rare parts (anything over 10 years old) at 5 times what they should be and DO NOT appear to be interested in producing more.

That CRV went to a Honda dealer first for its AC problem. Came back with an $8500 estimate for AC work alone. That "totals" the car.

I replaced the noisy compressor and completed ALL of the car's PMs for less than 2K.
That does not total the car, and the owners should get another 5 years out of it.

That dealership aggressively tried to sell them a new CRV...

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I believe we've seen the last of the $200 ATE masters.

Made me look...

I have a new ATE 19mm and my original 17 which I've already torn down.

The castings appear identical. All ports line up exactly.

The ID of the clip bore is 27mm on both.

The clips are identical.

The one that is in the classifieds will accept your current hardware.

It will be an increase in bore size which does change how the pedal feels.

The brake activation point in the stroke will be a little higher.
The leg force required will be slightly higher.
Most folks find it completely usable.

Strangely the new ATE cylinder came with the reservoir line bushings installed but the washers which live underneath them in a bag...
Make sure to verify washer installation before you assemble it.
The old washers out of your original cylinder should work fine if that unit is missing them.
