So I have about 3K miles on a 2056 with L-jet, 52mm throttle body, and stock 1.8 exhaust and am considering a Tangerine header system.
Is anyone using one of these on their 2056 or smaller engine and, if so, how do you like it? Are you using a 1 1/2" or 1 5/8" system?
I am leaning toward the smaller diameter system.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I had the same question a few years ago. I emailed Chris directly and, based on my spec’s (2374), he recommended the 1-5/8” system. 1-1/2” is probably good for a 2056.

Chris is very accessible, send him an email.

His stuff is top-notch (I'm using his exhaust on my 2056 Dell-carbed racer).

Don't be in a big hurry, though. Last time I was there (last week) the exhaust system build board had more than a handful in process. He's a one-man show and that day he was fabbing up lift plates...

Good point, Greg. I think it took over a year to get mine. This was during COVID, though.

As we all know, Chris makes great stuff and is always available for assistance with his stuff. James, I think his exhaust would be a great addition to your car. Cheers, Michael (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Chris does beautiful work and the system is great but for sure touch base with him on time table before hand. On paper the tangerine system should give you more in the mid range while one of the 4-1 systems might give you more up top. I saw a shift in my fueling curve that reflected this as well when I re-tuned my Megasquirt setup after swapping from the Eurorace 4-1 to the Tangerine Try-Y.

I would probably say 1 5/8 on the pipe size.

I talked t o Chris too on the diameter for a 2056, it depended on the heads, valve size, valve springs cam, and where the powers is to be made. So induction too.
My 2056 has carbs and 44/38 Valves and some head work. It make Great power form 3200- 6200 and seem to want to keep pulling.
If yours is for a street/daily, in "general" go with the 1.5 diameter tubes and make the power where you will be driving. I LOVE the top end pulls so my 2056 was set up for that

Thank you everyone for the feedback!

I have the 1 5/8" Tangerine header system on my carb'd 2.3 and like it very much, but I am still leaning toward the 1.5" system for my smaller engine.
