It is for a 4 cylinder type 4. I have been thinking about a dry sump for Howard and he is moving along now. Soon I will be in the engine, so now is the time to see if it is possible to get what I would need.
I saw a used FUBAR 914-6 oil tank for 1000.00, with my budget that is not possible. Or anywhere near it. But with a set of plans I could make a tank without the filter console just a tank with fittings for oil lines and a filler neck. Thanks

Thanks Mark, I would love too, but 700 plus just doesn't fit my budget. If I can not get plans I will try to do some cardboard engineering. Or the engine will stay wet.

Or reach out to me and see if I might be willing to sell it in kit form? I have a few not built up and a few that are 75% done that I can sell much cheaper. Let’s talk about your budget. I want to move on from these. I will not be making anymore once they are gone

Shivers and I have communicated I think he is going to take me up on the welding up kit.

If anyone else wants a weld up kit let me know. I will build up the remaining ones soon and that will be it.

Yea, it’s a tight fit in there. Making it just a bit off would be super frustrating. Ben has already spent the time and money. I think you will benefit over diy.

So simple question, if applying a OE /6 style tank to a /4 application does one or the other oil filter become redundant?
IE would a tank w/o the oil filter console be preferred vs using the oil filter on the tank & using the block filter console for a cooler?
Are there prefabbed block off's for the tank filter console?

I did this. Used the money to buy a TIG instead. Bought aluminum sheet and pounded out tank halves using the plans made available by Porsche. I don’t remember the links, but they are out there. I retrospect, it was a lot of work and worry, but also satisfying. And I can TIG.
