Nice work! I really like the color. It's going to look great when it's all put back together. Good luck with the start up.

I like it! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)
Always liked bright colors and think that metallics have extra depth and sparkle that is just lacking in the solid paints... These little german roadsuckers are made to be painted bright colors.... Now we have a new flavor..... er... I mean color for the "jelleybeans".... Can't wait to see it with all the parts.... Ken |

Damn,
Went to put in the engine...had to... Drill holes and mount Fuel pump Replace fuel lines (boy cut them) Drill holes for fuel lines in engine shelf (homemade) Drill drain tube holes. Mount computer and relays on homemade battery tray Put all that nasty engine bay rubber back in.(sore wrists) Finally mounted the motor (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif) Now a few days of wiring details and shifter and and and She will start soon.... She is back on her own two feet...on the ground...with a motor... She lives Rich |

All righty...
Well we are done...at least this phase... Boy will drive car to girl tommorow at school. The best part was the alternator siezed up on the first test drive...I suppose better now than when he was on the road somewhere else... So now he has my spare alternator, and the belt from MY CAR...but its cool.. It was fun watching someone else change an alternator with the motor in the car...not my favorite job. Cherry now broken. Well, we will post some pics in the next day or two to show you the new ride...out of the barn and ready for some fresh salt to start the process all over again. He is guning for the coolest car award in school... He will have some fun.. Rich |

Wow Abel, Nice job. I wouldn't recognize it as the same car - but with the new color, I won't miss it if I see you on the road either! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

OK, we have had a meeting of the minds., Sort of.
We will now perform the CASOB closed door paint job to make this years color Black. Think of this as a mood car, like the mood ring. Black is very appropriate this year. This will be a one/two day quicky to make it look presentable again for the year. Await further pictures, she is in position, up front in the "live" stall, and about to assume the position (jack stands). The simple plan is as follows. Remove bumpers, headlight covers, F/R parking lights and blinkers, simple chrome...the rest gets masked. Hit the car with 200/320/400 depending upon need. Just a tad of plastic to fix a few ripples we left last time. Then black single stage (maybe two stage.. if I can get a deal) We will be painting the wheels also, just cause hes into that look. bumpers, rockers, valances...all black. Even the little wanna be fog light grills that are all beat looking.....black. I am happy to hide the outer appearance of purple at this point, and the inner soul of the car is still purple.. According to SirAndy, alot of the prototype cars used different colors inside, and that is our new story. Rich |

Wow, cool the rear this one again.
Well, after a year at college missing his baby, he has fixed alot of the little things that broke and he is driving it yet again. He met up with a stopped truck a few weeks ago..the truck won. We borrowed a porta power and spend a few hours getting the headlight area and front end back into shape...its a complex area to straighten, but we got it pretty damn close. He is working fulltime this summer, but keeps talking about painting it black...we shall see. Got Axel , my oldest, a 924S from a friend...he loves that. His Orange beetle has been retired for now.
