Looks bad, feels gud! i just moved from Fremont to San Juan Bautista and it was questionable if the car was going to make the 50 mile drive. No worries mate! A curious thing happened on the way though. Some guy in a big white american car past me in the fast lane and then pulled over in front of me and slowed down. He was spewing out smoke so I thought he was having problems. I moved over to pass him and when I got next to him he pulled out a camera and took my picture! Then he took off. I was wondering if I was going to be the subject of a "spotted" posting. I haven't had a good connection or the time to lurk around lately. Hopefully that will change.....Can't wait to show you all photos of my car in her new garage!

Running? Nope?

Bodywork? Well, not a lot of rust, but, er, yeah it'll be on jackstands for a while.

QUOTE (prman602 @ Oct 8 2005, 03:22 PM)

The worst part is that I can't do all of the work, I have no experience with welding or body work and don't know anyone in the area who does. The rest I can Handle.

That's my story!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)

[QUOTE]

I don't either, but it won't keep me from trying.
Lots of great cars!!
Even a 914 on stands is (to me!) a beautiful thing.
My major delay has been doing summer stuff and
finding money for parts.
You people keep up the good work!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif)

Jack Stands for me....Replacing the alternator and hopefully a change to new FI injector points is all it needs to get back to running on all 4 cylinders.

Gots get a few more drives in before we have rain & snow in Ohio

I voted #1, though it isn't truly correct for my car's state. She wasn't running when I got her due to a poor carb conversion. I could have had it running in a few hours of work. But I decided since that, and other things I found, suggested the previous owner was a hack mechanic, that I should really go through the car. So, she'll be in stands for at least the winter. Engine and tranny are both getting complete rebuilds with a mind to more performance. Hopefully by the spring thaw she'll be ready to be a driver, and kind fast. As others have alluded to, you can only go so fast with a type IV, even suped up...

I'm in the same boat as Rob. I'm stripping the car for paint and the engine is assembled and waiting for the car to be done.

i think andys right, there are quite a few d.d.'s out there. this poll would mean apx. 30% are down w/ body or mechanical... maybe its true, mine is down with new engine blues too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Mine's a daily driver, 20 miles each way to work, rain or shine. It runs fine, though there are some things to change (like putting the FI on). The body/interior are in a state of arrested decay! It's not too slow, I can usually keep up with traffic.

This is Chappy not Qarl, I hijacked his laptop and can tell you his car is the same as it ever was, still on jack stands stripped and empty.
