Sorry Bjorn, you don't win anything. Mainly because there is nothing wrong with the sticker. As far as I can tell (unless one of you experts point something out I'm missing) this is a correct sticker for the engine compartment of a 1974 914 1.8.

Actually, I just took a look at the sticker in my car, a 2.0L, and fuel injection is spelled fuel injektion. Crazy Germans can't even spell. They're almost as bad as the French. In French, chapeau means hat. Oeuf means egg. It's like those French have a different word for everything. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

God I love Steve Martins old stuff.

I took the statement of the trasmission in neutral to mean an automatic transmission. Manual transmissions should need this explaination. You can't really set the idle in any other way.

Other than the description saying 1974 1.7

Thats it, and thats all...There were no 1.7L in 1974....the ad is mislabelled, but the label is correct for a 1974 1.8L....its on the AA website described in the same way.

I should have guessed you would be all over this one Steve...congrats... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Why run? You can just sit on the rear lid while a friend steers the car. Better have a friend you can trust!

Did that once on a Corvair convert (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif) Broken throttle cable 1/2 mile from home. Wife was driving, (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving-girl.gif) I was running the throttle. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) You wouldn't believe how much pressure the wind puts on that open lid! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)

I got to thinking about this sticker some more...

Both my 1974 cars have the original sticker...They have Red text, not black. If this sticker is supposed to be NOS and original, and this image is a scan of the sticker, it should be in the correct color. Then why is the text black...? That's what I thought was the problem. It's the color that was wrong. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)

Just a side comment (as I know nothing about 4cyl cars) the ebay ad is for "GT AUTO PARTS & PERFORMANCE" not "AA".

It may be worth giving "GT" a shot at this.
