Ca land promoter offered free plane ride and hotel if we looked at lots for sale on the beach at Ocean Shores. Cheap land (19,900) for a 7200 sq ft. lot just off the beach. Compared to So Cal very cheap. Stayed at the Red Lyon Hotel in Olympia (very nice) where the Subaru SCCA pro Rally Team was staying. Big Operation 4 trucks 2 trailers just for support. Said they were getting a new car Tuesday. It's been flown into SeaTac from England. they carry every thing but your kitchen sink in those trucks. Had a good time with great weather.

well you sure had the weather for your visit. was the lot down towards the jetty? if you are considering, contact a local real estate person, property moves ALOT. most of the condos on the water side (jetty- north) are in imminate danger of going wet due to coastal errosion. were you made aware of the ccr's?

o.s. has a long history. pat boone was the main spokesperson in the early 60's. the big plan was for o.s. to be "vegas north". the initiative to legalize gambling failed and the thing collapsed. 2 years ago one of my cousins sold a 2 bed, one bath, 1200sq.ft. house one mile north of the jetty on the other side of the frontage road for 52k. when the wind starts blowing and carrying the sand, it can be a bitch. did you notice the tidal wave evacuation route signs? there is only ONE road out of ocean shores, and the road to high ground is a curvy 2 lane.

I've been there 3 times. My parents had a lot on the canal expecting to build their retirement home. After looking deeper into area livability they sold it. Took them over a year to get out of it what they paid. I could never get past the thought of Ocean Shores as being a dirty little town (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) Everything always looked kinda unfinished. The road to it has beautiful scenery with really nice houses & land.
There are much better areas in the PNW along the coast. Check out from Port Angeles & Port Townsend Wa. on down thru to Newport, Or.

go check out Port Angeles sometime. it's on the Strait of Juan deFuca. very reasonable property prices, lots of sun (esp for wa). it's becoming a very popular retirement area for alot of out of staters.

The place has no curb appeal. The agent never mentioned the C.C.&Rs. Looked up the area on Realtor.com There are over 600 listings listed starting @ $6,500 but I had a good time visiting with my daughter and grand daughter. They live on Bainbridge and are happy with the wonderful weather(over 53 days of over70 degrees )
