Aaron and Allan said their cars will be ready by the 18th.
And so all this stuff is on one place, here's a repost: Just sent Waide this email. Let's start collecting stuff for his new car I have some WCC stickers, extra throttle cable, Meguiars, Haynes. Bring whatever you can. Hi Waide, Went thru the car some more today. It's missing a couple of little things, one trunk targa top holder, one heater hose, trunk carpet. Think we can scrounge all that at the BBQ, but more important, no tools or owners manual. Suggest you pick up an inexpensive tool kit and hunt down an owners manual on eBay. Has Haynes manual, spare bulbs, fuses and jack, but no lug wrench. Spare is good. Throttle cable a little squeaky. I lubed it and hope for the best, but I do have a spare. Got the carbs and timing pretty well (my first try with carbs) and I'm sure it will be fine, but if you want I can take it to a 'real' Porsche mechanic and have him go thru the car. I never seem to get out of there for less than $300, so your call if you want this done. Are you planning to come in Friday night or Saturday? I'm about 70 miles from Joe's. Piece of cake on Saturday, tougher on Sunday PM, and a real PITA during the week. Just let me know. I decided to post this in hopes of getting stuff you need. Howard |

Are you gonna add me to the list in the 912? Its coming back from paint any day now... I just need to rebuild the pedal cluster and rebuild carbs.
Throw me in the mix Howie! (even though the 912 is a NARP) |

I must confess, I voted neither. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)
I of course wont have mine there either. Loaned out the welder so I cant finish the long kit and the rear suspension is still not done and I have yet to remove the rear trans cover and fix the speedo. Otherwise, it would be there. Since I have no time to work on it, I will be in the old reliable little yellow pickup. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) |

Ok, the extra throttle cable is fantastic, now if/when that breaks while I'm crossing the desert in between Cali and AZ, do I just duct tape the new one to the broken one and then we're all good? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) HEHEHE, since I am new to 914s it might be well worth my $$$ to have the car go to a mechanic and have the cable replaced and the vehicle giving the once over. Do you guys think that's a good move or ???? We are planning to arrive on Saturday (unk time) and take off Sunday AM after the BBQ blues wear off. Did I mention that I'm excited to meet all of you, oh yeah and pick up my car? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) |
