Look what's inside. Why would anyone want to run a dizzy with just trigger points? A clue it doesn't have anything to do with fuel supply.

Man Tim you're sharp. It's a cam sensor to chose coil pack. 35-1 crank sensor for triggering an EDIS4 module, Timing controlled by a Megasquirt board. Mueller are you out there. With 2 coil packs from a Ford EDIS you could run twin plugs or a dedicated coil per cylinder. Find the right COP units you could do that.

Dave,
Ive set up a number of haltec, motec, electromotive link, etc. engine management systems. One of the easiest ways to emulate a cam angle sensor is to use a distibutor to supply the signal. Of course you must be using coilpacks to be able to do this. I have a old haltec unit im thinking about setting up on my 3.2 914.... could be interesting..(IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Sounds like a cool project |

I dont like it. You still have a mechanical failure waiting to happen (the trigger points) Why not something solid state like a GM 4 pin module or hall effect ?? The Vanagon had to have electronic dizzy that fits our cases.
