I am re-assembling my car and put the wiper arms on about three weeks ago. After looking at some pictures of other cars(tonight) I noticed 3/4 of them had the wipers resting on the driver side and 1/4 of them have them on the passenger side. I don't remember where mine were when I took them off. Is there a way to tell without powering them up? Is it possible different years or models have them on different sides?

I just thought...why don't I look at my old pictures of my car before I took it apart. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

But still why do some cars have them on the passenger side?

People switch them because it is more modern. Maybe they feel like the wipers limit their vision...??

i believe the resting position changed with year, but i don't recall what year. if i had to guess, it'd be '73 or later - lots of things changed in '73 after commonality with the /6 was no longer a factor.

They all came to rest on the drivers side. You can change it to the passenger side, but like it is will give instant cleaning of the drivers view ( the important one). The arms are also diferent.

It rains alot here, the car I just sold had them changed over, it was on my to-do list for 3 years to un-change them. They leave too much water in my way when they are backwards, almost worse than RainX.
