My new site is aimed toward TIV conversion engines, but has alot of general TIV knowledge, that you guys might appreciate........Plus I will be offering a DTM that will fit a 914 and seal into the engine bay like a glove!

www.massivetype4.com is up and running!! Right now its running through Tuna's system so its not as fast as it will be.

We also have some type o's to work on and need to eduit the entire site once over and hook up all the links and etc....Also need a better home page..

I have spent a TREMENDOUS amount of time getting the site to be as comprehensive as it is....By Christmas all our conversion parts will also be listed there as well, along with some of our modified internal parts...

We will be transferring some of our info from the aircooledtechnology site to it also, as the aircooledtechnology site will be strictly engine related and all the basic TIV info will be on the new site....

I will be adding more and more to my question and answer sections and hope to cover every hot topic, and some that people do not think about.....

So, now go sit down, relax and spend about 3 hours looking over the new site...I will be adding many more pics soon and will illustrate every step that it takes to build a DTM...all 127 steps!!!

This weekend I'll be at the Southeastern Bugfair with a few Shroud Models and engines....The crew from Bug Me video will also be set up at my corner of the show grounds....Next week we are shooting the conversion Video, so I won't be around much!!

With all that bellyaching, you could have just shown him how!

Jake, try it like this. Just cut and paste the below text. But... when you do, replace all the "{" with "[" and "}" with "]".

Jake should be happy that you fixed his signature and that we are actually paying attention to his thread and helping to generate traffic to his new site. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif)

I specialize in 10k dollar 3.0 6 conversions...LOL For 7k you can have a massive type 4 that you still have to install ..LOL

He will love that.

That's why a 7k 2270 doesn't make sense in a 914, a six is the way to go for more hp besides the 914 was designed for the Porsche flat six. Why else would ALL OF THEM have the bump in the bulkhead so the fan would fit????And the stamping for the oil tank in the drivers side wheelhouse??

Anybody? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

DTM was the company who made the upright fan shroud conversions for the type4. They where based in Oregon. The owner died and Jake bought the molds. Before he went public with the fact that he owned it all now.. he tested all of them to make sure he bought the best product available on the market for upright conversions.

I like it.. but I like the look of the 911 fan more. Unfortanetly looks sell... he will have to figure out how to make the 911 fan work in the other setups. I think the bug guy's will like more "form" than function. I oculd be wrong.. but every bug engine I have seen is "Bling Bling'd" to death with chrome and such.. so.. This DTM is kinda bland.

Geoff

ok... well how cheap can a 6 conversion be done for? even a 2.2 or 2.4...

what hp?
also, how hard is it?

for me anyway, the big type 4 seems like it takes a lot less knowledge to buy a kit(or a turnkey and just do a direct bolt up)that someone else(who's more experienced) has layed out the right formula to many times before... the 6 seems a LOT more complicated... even if you leave the 4-bolt suspension up front...

yeah, but wouldn't you also want a better suspension and brakes if you got a 200+HP 4-banger ???
