saw a beautiful yellow car on 17w near Owego NY, all yellow, rockers, sail panels, roof, ect. looked to have polished 5 lug fuchs. didn't get a good look as i was going the other direction.

also saw a rusted out silver '74 1.8 in Vestal NY, perfect interior, but thats about all the good i can say about that car.

these belong to anyone?

its been a couple years since i last saw another 914 on the road, when i got my car 3 years ago there were at least 3 914's i would regularly see around Penn State. Definately a rare sight though.

wow, how does a 914 make it thru philly?? I am amazed at what the roads are like here. do they have lift kits installed? my stock GTi even has a rough time of it.

yea, but the engine was built up by the previous owner (my uncle) when a valve seat went, unforunately i don't know what was done to it cuz he can't remember. i know it has larger p/c's and work was done to the heads, but i don't have a clue about it. it does still have the fuel injection though. maybe someday my uncle will find the build sheet for it.

this was his second 914, the first one he had was a factory 6, it got backed into in a parking lot, so he got rid of it and got this one. He tried to have the engine built to have about the same power as his 6 used to. he told me that the power is close. but i've never driven a 6 myself so i don't know.

It looks like a clean car. Shoot a pic of the engine compartment and we can tell you if he built it using a 2.0 or a 1.7/1.8.

Welcome to the BBS (IMG:style_emoticons/default/clap56.gif) Lots of good people on this board.

drove thru philly last week on my way to Atlantic City, 750 mile round trip no problems. some of the roads in Pa give me scare me but the 914 is nimble enuff to miss most of the pot holes.

it's got the 1.7 injection, and either 1.7 or 1.8 heads.

i've been on this site for a while and also on the bird site, just don't post much, more of a lurker.
