I got the new axle and installed it today. To my surprise, IT WORKED! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
As someone who knows absoutely nothing about cars, I'm amazed at how much I can do by myself (with help from this board and the PP website). I'd like to thank everyone who suggested solutions (because one of them was right!) and got me looking at possible fixes. I've missed the teener for the two weeks that it was down and I'll just have to drive it that much more to make up for it.
