Starting my update for the build-off.....
This one has been going on too long -
Looks like the last update was 6 years ago - Yikes!
Here's a recent photo of me and the car....
And the original first image for this post on the bottom.

I have been participating in 914 events and on the boards for more than a few years now, although only posting a few times a week...

There are a few of the contingent from the Texas group and from the MUSR's that have accused me of not having a car at all.... Including Clay and James West....

So, just to make it clear that a car does actually exist, even though it be on jackstands... Here is Bullit in my driveway... Notice in one of the pics the Suburban that I auto crossed year before last many years ago at MUSR 6...???

I will post additional photos of the progress as things move along, but keep in mind I have had this tub over 5 15 years...

Yes -
They are fiberglass - they have been on the car since I brought it home 5 years ago - I had the body man that I bought the car from install them...it was part of the deal...

Nice Photoshop job...

And I am not referring to Miles' amateur work. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/poke.gif)

Where did you steal the picture of the 914 on jack stands?? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/poke.gif)

Seriously,

What can we do to help you get it up and running? A reassembly party? Betty says anyone who has poked fun at you for the phantom 914 is now morally bound to help.

Clay -

I need to get the car painted, and I stilll need parts....
I found a motor in MO this weekend that I will be driving up in the next week to 10 days to pick up... I have the renegade adapter, flyflywheel, clutch, and pressure plate. I need a good radiator and fans. I also need 3.5" front struts for the 5 lug swap. I have most of the expensive stuff for the rears. I will also need wheels and tairs. At this point I am probably going to paint the car in the garage. If you can help me do that, it will be a good start.

Then you can rewire the car... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

I'm in north central. East of Kansas City, so it's about 150 miles or so.

I don't really do paint and body. I can, but it takes me forever. That's why I paid someone to do mine. I can help with the transmission, the wiring, and maybe the wheels. I have a set of 16" C2 wheels that may be right for you.

16x7 fronts and 16x8 rears.

If you are interested, you can come take a look at them.

Wish you would have got ahold of me. I walked in from driving back from K.C. MO, about a half hour ago. I could have shot over and threw it in the back of Dads truck and hauled it back (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif)
