I just hope that if I ever sell the thing the next owner doesn't try to replace the pan. Cause they will be in for a lot of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) and (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) since I welded the patches to both the longs/firewall and the pan. nice work. I think a potential next owner would be happy that you attacked the rust the right way, instead of a hack job.

Hey man, what else is needed that will take time besides the welding? If you need some engine/tranny help I can come up towards the end of the month (provided my car is running) and do that for you while you weld. Electrical, too.

What you are doing is soo right. I feel at peace when I see rust being replaced with new metal (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Let me know (PM as my email function does not work)

Looks good. I would have repaired the "hell hole" before fixing the firewalls though.

Now that the site is back up (Thanks Andy!!!, You do great work), it is time for a much needed update.

I made up and welded in the seat rail using the guide over at the bird site.

Worked pretty good.

I think most of you would have had a (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif) party by now and endded this things life.

But I'm going to make her whole again. I have the power and the technology to build her bigger, better, and stronger than before.

First the tire need to be out of the way.

Had to use a little heat and a hammer to get the lugs loose.

I was reading someones post on the bird board about getting the rear mounts loose and it was recomended to spray with PB Blaster for a week before trying to get them off. I didn't do that. Instead I used enough MAPP Gas to get thyem red hot and then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) them a bit. After that they came out like there were threaded into butter.
