Once this guy showed up it was all but over.

I'll post the results as soon as the fight is over.

A wedding in July. That is a short time frame.

Looks like you are making some good progress.

I think you are in the running for the fastest resto.

Question is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dead horse.gif) What do the longs look like?

Rmital just did his. Maybe he will jump in here with some advise.
He is your competitor... claims his will be on the road in another 2 weeks.
That would be less than 2 months on jackstands.

Hey mine spent less than 5 days on the stands. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif)

Its sitting firmly on it's wheels and gets rolled out of the garage so I can clean up.

I know, I know, everyone wants to see the longs without the rockers. I'll do that tonight, but I don't think there is much to take pictures of. They are missing. Look earlier in this thread to see the pile of rust that has come out of the passanger one. I can reach up threw the hole in the bottom and find the heater tube, and the backing for the passanger seatbelt nut. (That broke loose by the way and so the seatbelt is still in the car).

On the block for tonight while the wife is out is rewiring the garage so I can run the welder (PO of the house was a real shoemaker, 2 20 amp circuits, 1 with a switch running 6 outlets, and the second a switch going to an outside flood light.). Welding in that patch, and removing the rocker panels. Then pictures. If I get all that done I'll start on the other rust holes in the cabbin. Then it on to longs and "HH".

With all that I'll be ready to start reasembly. Anyone out there got a windshield (mine is out but has a small crack and I'd rather not put it back that way), and I also need a decient dash to put in first, or a cover if I can't find one.

One more thing..You really need to pull those rocker covers off and get behind there and see whats going on. Thats very very important. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

yeah...that's where the real "battle" or challenge lies.

Looking forward to seeing pic's of your longs..I still have a nice usable piece of that long if you need. See pic below of my fix.

...I'm so close to getting fresh paint on my 914 I could smell it!!! Hopefully tomorrow it goes in...just need to finish getting the rear bumper and aluminum trim pieces that cover the vinyl this afternoon then it's outa my hands.

Leo...was shooting for the first week of May, just a few days behind schedule.

Impressive work - reminds me of the few times my old man and me have pulled up carpet or pulled off rocker panels and simultaneously said "Oh Shit".

Anyway, there's a guy just outside of Pittsburgh that has a shop w/about a half a dozen 914's which he's parted(ing) out. Can't recall his name - might be able to dig it up for you... I got a pair of windshields and some other odds & ends from him a couple yrs ago...

Keep up the good work.

Then first patch is in.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of the welder.

Even managed to patch a few burn threws.

And I found a couple of thi spots that needed an aditional patch.

Man that is alot of rust. I wish you the best, I would have started with a new shell, but I am from Calif, the joke is we dont weld out here. But that is a BIG WHOLE in the long area, I have concerns because you had mentioned AX the car a little. Alot of reinforcing is going to be needed. Good luck.
