last weekend I visited the EHF Champions League Final (Hypo Niederösterreich - Zvesta Zvenigorod)
the match took place at the Arena Nova and was also live on Austrian TV
here's a screenshot from the live TV where you can see me amongst about 4,000 spectators (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

unfortunately the Austrian team was defeated and the Russians got the CL Trophy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Hey, it was 1983! Besides, the socks matched the car.

Snapshots in time, taken out of the original cultural context, do appear strange when viewed much later. At that time, my appearence wasn't unusual in the southern California beach city I lived and worked in. From 1966 to 1986, I had been an all american competetive swimmer, a California state surf lifeguard/ocean swimmer, varsity water polo player at USC, and triathelete. I guess I was more than slightly out of place, however, at a northern California race track (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) .

Now, what did I do with the '70s pictures of me in my favorite lime green leisure suit (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .
