I like the avitars because that's how I "know" people. I'm visual so the avitar is more recognizable/memorable than the screen name.
I guess I could turn off my avitars and force myself to start learning screen names but then I wouldn't get the funny avitars and the occational titilating jubblies (hey, where's the smilie showing off it's boobies?). |

Now I thought we were all adults, living in the Greatest country in the world. We can go where ever we want, with in our borders, without papers. We can own a gun, vote, dress and act however we want. If we are not happy with a situation we can leave. Now I don't know about you but I enjoy seeing how creative you all are going to get with your Avatars. Sometimes I am surprised at what you come up with, pleasently I should add. With all the sh!t that is going on in our world, there is one place that I can come to and enjoy myself with fellow Gearheads. Problems to solve, people to meet, storys to read and do I really need to mention the pic's. I was minding my own business, reading, when suddenly someone is Bitching about someone elses avatar( Mentioning no names). Now this Avatar Nazi wants this other person to change his avatar because it Offends his Delicate Sensibilities. What I would like to say is "GROW UP!" but that would be wrong. Instead I would like your opinions so the PTB know and can forge policy in our behalf. Thanks. This is a 914 forum not a porno site. I think people should be respectful of the deverse crowd who visit this forum and use G rated avatars. Having said that I havent seen an avatar on this site that offends my sensibilities so my version of G rated may be skewed! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) ...Oh and the world is a wonderful place - its just a matter of your own perspective. What does it say when you look to "creative" 914 board avatars as a sense of "relief" from the "world"? ....And youre (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dead horse.gif) |

Maybe in that small mind of yours but not in anything I wrote. Try reading it again. |

It's all been said before and it really never gets resolved.
I've brought it up in the pass, but I'm over it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dead horse.gif) Turn them off it you don't like 'em. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |

The Official policy...from the rules.
11) Avatars and posted pictures have to be PG-13. This incluces pictures attached to signatures. And that is ALL that needs to be said on the topic of avatars. |
