Shucks, you're right. I need to get that cooler up front then. I didn't think about that... And I bet toasty and slits don't have remote coolers at all... I guess the pace will be determined by "fastest we can go without cooking oel".

Even with big tires, my rpm's are still higher, about 1100 at idle. Plus with the grades, the cars will be heating up. Maybe when we stop for gas to give our cars a few to cool off. But I have been able to run great distances with the temp close to the red area without overheating. Like Riverside to Kingman, AZ staight through (288 miles) for example.

Brandon, I bet you haven't been on a really long road trip with a woman before, have you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) (I've gotta pee. I've gotta pee. I've gotta pee. I've gotta pee.)

Like I said, I literally drove this stretch every weekend for about 9 months. In my expierance, as long as you keep it 5mph above the posted limit, GENERALLY they leave you alone. This is generalization though. You never know what is gunna happen in Utah!

And no Toasty, I would either drive my diesel at exactly 80mph or my friends 930 at 150+. Either way we would get to Vegas (or Denver) in about 10 hours and 15 minutes. Vegas to Denver is 750 miles, 80 mph X 10 hours is 800 miles minus fuel time = 750 miles in about 10 hours. If I drove the truck, we would go 600 miles between fuel stations. If we drove the 930, it was a race from gas station to gas station. Knock on wood, we never got pulled over in Utah. If you got a radar dectector, bring it. My escort has saved my ass countless times. I also have a small CB with a magnetic mount antenna, maybe I will bring it as well. Those truckers let you know where all the fuzz is.

Speaking of fuzz lookout -- how we gonna keep in contact? Get 4 or 5 of those little 2-mile radius handhelds?

actually radar dectectors are perfectly legal in Utah. The only states where radar dectectors are illegal are Virginia and Wasington DC.

I had thought about those walky-talky things. There ok as long as you are not too far apart. Cell reception after Vegas is shit (Verizion seems pretty damn good though). So chances are that may be our best bet. Or just use sign language. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/finger.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

And Brandon....I do have a cooler....it sits in the passenger seat filled with ice and goodies....Is that front mounted enough for ya?

I win all the roundy rounders at the ol' folks home.

Where were the flies around that rotten piece of fish? (pink salmon = carp = low life bottom feeder = ES = :nutkick:)
