Oh, that's so ugly & so unneccesary. You think I'd scam you guys about a simple coil? Nope, I'll take the hit for the blue. Course, I still have my original coil & I COULD put it back on........no paint necessary. I COULD show up on Friday with the "blue" & replace it quickly with the orig for Monday. Now, there's a thought.

But nope! No support vehicle loaded with parts. It will be show as it left Philly. No scams!

Forive us Pat, we're just havin fun @ your expense. Foolish children, cause nothin matters till the fat lady sings & you know it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) !

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool_shades.gif)

Funny thing about sarcasm on the web - you can't apply facialisms (if that's a word). I WAS being sarcastic - no harm done - it was a joke (as was yours).

I learned MANY years ago, if you're going to dish it out - expect it in return. In fact, I appreciate it - it's how we bond! Have all the fun you want at my expense Al. See Eric's brake thread for my response!

And, it's all in good fun, though your brakes really suck!

Umm, without trying to arouse the wrath of all who think this is purty (and it definitely is), those hoses to & from the heater blower are suspect. Shouldn'y those be black plastic?

QUOTE(Jeff Bowlsby @ Aug 3 2006, 10:35 PM) *

I love the nostalgic vintage look of your engine bay Pat. For me, thats alot of what this hobby is about. I wish I could find those colored hoses somehere, I have looked everywhere. I am tempted to beach out the available gray fabric lines and try to dye them the right color.

I have found a high temp ceramic coating from Techline Coatings (titanium) that is a dead wringer for the stock gray high temp paint on the intake tubes, muffler and heat exchangers, and its more durable. You might look into it.

What is the issue with using new stainless screws, is it that big of a deduct?

Why not change the coil/bracket too?

I was cruising through old posts & realized that I'd never responded to the "colored hoses" issue. With help of wife, we re-dyed all but the green hoses some years back. I wouldn't bleach them because it would play hell with the rubber. We re-dyed the black & red hoses, after a good soaking in mild detergent & letting them dry, with RIT dye. They worked out really well, but that's been more than 15 years ago, and they've faded again.

Getting ready to replace all the reds & blacks from AA, just because of age & potential vac leaks. Wish I could find the green!

ill take some photos when i work on the 1.7 next week to fix some intake runner leaks

cept for the blue bosch, most of the motor is pretty stock on its appearance
though very dirty, 230,000 miles, and 35 years later, its not as clean as it once was

Can someone with a '75 1.8L post photos of original engine bay including EGR system? I'm putting mine back together and need some clues about component placement. I have the vacuum diagram which is great but it doesn't say how or where EGR is mounted, etc.

Can't help with a 1.8L, but here's my '74 2.0L in progress, and getting there.

Fun thread, but awfully light on originality! And not even one factory /6 engine bay... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Who's got the cleanest /6 out there? Would be nice to have some engine shots as a reference.

Dude. How many times are you going to quote that picture into this thread? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

You're asking a valid question, but try asking it in the garage...this really isn't the spot. Plus not too many people view these threads.
