Yes, it is true, the Mexican Sports Car Association is having the Tijuana Gran Prix on Nov 7, 8 and 9. There was one several years ago and in the feature race a NASCAR stock car battled a Porsche Turbo that probably was worth more than all the cars racing combined! And yes, the Turbo finally won. It is a NASA, run-what-you-brung type of event with TV and movie starlets, the TECATE girls and my friend Ted and my race cars. You will sign tons of autographs and be a hero for at least a couple of days. The course is on new streets in the "River Zone" just south of the border and headquarters at the Pueblo Amigo hotel. If the car is Vintage, SCCA, VARA elegible then you could enter. They like standing starts, and class by engine size mainly. Info is on www.calderapromotions.com.
